Orchids & LA

Ben in Plaza Kitchen

Last weekend on ‘Mommy Day’ William and I repotted each and every orchid that had been stored outside on the plant stand. Ben gifted to me a green house for my birthday to use for the orchids….We placed it on a sunny side of the house so the orchids would be warmer; it’s an experiment. Any advice from orchid lovers?

Anyway….the really great news is that I did not break a single finger nail repotting dozens of orchids. NailExtend is a fantastic product!

The picture you see her featuring Ben is to show you the kitchens in the rooms at the Beverly Hills Plaza (Ben surprised me). We stayed there a few nights while attending conferences and meetings for the countries of South America. I had a kitchen very nearly the same size without the window in the first apartment I lived in on my own in Ventura when I turned eighteen. In fact, I’m pretty sure the entire suite was larger than my first apartment.

    Joni,
My sister and I had looked at selling your product at one time. Are you ever going to make the products without parabens and more natural? I see you have natural ingredients listed but to be truly 100% natural you need to get rid of the parabens. Most the cosmetic/skin care industry is going this way due to demand and evidence of parabens side effects to women.
I would love to use and sell your products but until then I just can’t. Thanks for listening.

    • Dear Eleanor,
We here at SeneGence have done much research regarding this issue. Our chemists beleive to date, the use of parabens are the safest way to protect consumers from contamination when using skin care creams, lotions, liquids on skin. Having stated so….we are also working alternative methods to deliver personal care products to consumers that do not require the use of any type of preservative.

Until such time we launch said methods you should know parabens, according to the FDA, are most widely used as preservatives in cosmetic products such as makeup, moisturizers, hair care products, and shaving products, to name a few. The most common parabens- methylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben- are often used in combination with other types of preservatives to increase the shelf-life of a product and to keep it safe from bacterial contamination.

There continue to be different viewpoints about the potential health risks associated with parabens in beauty products. “Parabens are safe for use in cosmetic products at levels up to 25%,” the FDA says, “[and] typically parabens are used at levels ranging from 0.01% to 0.3%., which is true of our products”. The FDA stands by the claim that “at the present time there is no reason for consumers to be concerned about the use of cosmetics containing parabens.”

Our entire line of patented long lasting liquid lip colors and lip liners, LipSense, LipSense Naturals, and LinerSense are formulated with self regulated preservative systems. We’d love to have you and your sister help to share these products with other women in search of ‘products that really work!”
